Our Process
Good intentions aren't enough on their own. NovoVento follows a specific method — human-centered, bottom-up, and built to put communities at the center of every step, from the first conversation to the design of something lasting.
Four frameworks. One process.
Knowledge on the ground, and communities at the center of all of it.
-
We start by understanding, not assuming. Human-centered and bottom-up from the first question: open inquiry, small ideas tested quickly, and what we learn from each attempt shaping the next — rather than arriving with a plan drawn up somewhere else.
-
No challenge exists on its own. We look at the wider web of relationships, rules, and habits that keep a problem in place, so what we build actually holds — instead of solving the surface and leaving the cause untouched. The knowledge that matters most here is knowledge on the ground: what people living inside a system understand about it that no outside analysis can capture.
-
Communities aren't only experts on today — they're the ones who get to decide what tomorrow looks like. This part of the work gives people the space to imagine a future worth working toward, not just fix what's broken.
-
The deepest layer is about how we listen. It asks us to slow down, set aside the assumptions we arrived with, and pay attention to what isn't yet being said — because real solutions rarely come from the same thinking that created the problem. This happens human to human; it can't be replicated through a screen.
The Platform
To listen at a scale no single conversation can reach, we're building a platform — powered by AI in the future — that helps us gather and act on what communities are telling us, continuously, not just at the start. It's also how we hope to open a dialogue between communities themselves — Brooklyn, Rio de Janeiro, Bissau, and beyond — so people facing similar barriers can learn directly from each other, not only through us. A tool for deeper listening. Never a replacement for it.
